How to Add New Matches?

Adding/Managing Matches and Competitions

In EMJOGO, to create a match, you must first create and configure it's competition. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Create a Competition

  1. Click on "Teams" in the administration area under the "Sports Management" section or in the "Sports" tab;

  2. Choose the team for which you want to add matches and click on "View Team";

  3. On the team's page, in the sidebar, click on "View Matches";

  4. Click the "Add Competition" button in the competitions section;

  5. On the competition configuration page, in the "Step 2: Competition Configuration" of the form, you can choose between two methods to create the competition;

    • You can choose an existing competition to maintain the competition history;

    • If the competition does not exist yet, you can create a new one by selecting a "Title", "Type" of competition and whether it is official or not;

  6. In "Step 3: Season Configuration" of the form, you can choose a "Title" to give the competition a name that aligns with the sponsorship or other agreements in effect for the season;

  7. Choose whether the competition will be played in multiple phases (note that a championship can also have more than one phase) or not, as per your preferences;

  8. Click the "Next" button to complete the creation of the competition.

Step 2: Configure the Competition

  1. On the competition page, if the competition is played in multiple phases (e.g., 1st phase, 2nd phase, semi-finals, and finals), you should create the various phases while respecting the competition type of each one ("Championship" or "Tournament"). Depending on the competition type, different options will be presented to complete the phase configuration;

  2. Choose the option "Do you want to create all the matches?" for EMJOGO to automatically create all the matches;

  3. After this action, the competition and matches will be created. However, before editing the matches, you should select the opponents for this phase by clicking on the "Teams" button in the "Relations" field or in the alert message indicating that teams need to be added;

  4. On the team addition page, click the "Add Team" button, and in the rows of the added team(s), select the team(s) you want from the list presented. Alternatively, you can add a new opponent by using the "+" option in that team's row.

Step 3: Manage Game Information

  1. On the competition page, click the "Matches" button in the "Relations" field;

  2. On the games page, fill in the fields for "Round", "Date", "Hours", "Home Team", "Away Team", "Location", "Result" and the "Status" of the game;

  3. After this action, the game schedule will be complete, and you can begin working with the game information as desired.

🔎 Usage Tips

While the competition is ongoing, it's possible to add or remove teams and phases from the competition:

  • To remove a team from the phase: On the team addition page, you can remove a team from the competition by clicking the "x" option in case you have selected too many teams.

  • To add a team to the phase: On the team addition page, if the number of teams in the competition is not correct, you can add more teams by clicking the "Add Team" button on the right side.
